From a young age, Lamar Monzell Moore was always exposed to the Arts. He also possessed the ability to express himself thru his art. Whatever he could think of, he created at the tip of his pencil. As he matured, he mastered his art to the point of needing to find other ways to apply it. From a young age, Lamar has always had a love for music. So naturally, he began to merge the ability to create a picture and using words, but this time, musically. He began to focus on sound, how it is used to control emotion, how sound relates to life, and he began to hear his life musically.
After graduating high school, he began to take himself more seriously as a hip-hop artist but it would be almost ten years after that he would find himself as an artist and give himself the name “ArtoFact”. Art, the form of expression which began his vision. “Fact”, the foundation for anything with real meaning. Hip-hop, the generation in which he would be raised and find an outlet to express the ability to create masterful expression to the point of painting a picture, literally thru music.
Influenced thru the eras of such greats as Tupac Shakur, Nas, Biggie Smalls, and Jay-z, ArtoFact also remained grounded sticking to such great unmentionables as Outkast, Common, Talib Kweli , Mos Def, and the recent emergence of Midwest based artist such as Kanye West, and Lupe Fiasco. It was then that he began to feel his place within a musical genre that was at the brink of loosing its soul for material gain. It needed to be painted in a different picture. It needed balance, and color. It needed ArtoFact. Now, musically you feel the expressions of an artist take you thru life as he hears it, feels it, and sees it now, and were he feels it is going.
The Midwest is in the beginning stages of a movement of new artist to hit the scene. With that being said, remember this name, ArtoFact. As a representation of Hip-Hop, he is the definition. From Lyrics to style, from presentation to content, this is an artist for all ages.. As an individual artist, he shows the ability to be versatile, reaching many different listeners with a skillfully intelligent flow sure to be remembered. This artist has it all, and he used it to make the best, and that's “The Facts”.
