I am 77 years old I spend the first 21 years growing up in North Dakota On the farm, Served In The US Marine corps Was shiped to Korea, 1951 /1953 After the Marines i worked on the farm in Iowa for 2 years Then came to Mpls Mn. Wrere i met my wife Myrna we got married in 1956 and had 3 children and have been married for 51 years I am now trying to publish a song i wrote the lyrics to the song, thats as far as i got so far I beleive the lyrics are good enough for someone to take a look at.

Information regarding legitimate copyright of materials can be found by going to the Library of Congress webpage @ http://www.copyright.gov/ Realistically, it isn't uncommon with the hundreds of thousands of sounds out there that more than several will end up with similar ideas, word structure, and melody. Nature of the beast. I would hazard a guess that the safest guard against any unsolicited use of a lyric would be to post it in its entirety in a prominent arena with the "copyright issie ternes (year)" at the end. Your SoundClick page would be such an arena. Besides, many of us would be glad to give it a read. If you don't write music but lyric only, check into collaboration with another artist.
