Upryze is the name Daniel C. Morrison, celebrity journalist for Alternative Revolt Magazine goes by in a genre he and his cousin pioneered called Street Rock.
"My cousin and I were reading an article in a newspaper about how the rap and hip hop industry was almost no good anymore," says Daniel. "The majority of themes were sexual, about possessions, and/or about people being better then everyone else. There was mention of little to no thought put behind lyrics. Next up was a bashing of white rappers. Truth be told, we agreed. However, to say there was no talent out there was false. The problem is no one supports the locals in a community, it seems, and people get sorely overlooked."
This is where Daniel came in. He and his cousin, Trajik, did solo acts and combined to form the powerhouse, Mirage. This style led to many positive reviews from artists in many different genres including rock, country, metal, alternative, musical theory, and more.
