About MAXINE KING Born to parents of multi-cultural decent on the Island Jamaica, Maxine King migrated to the United States in the 1986. Her love of music was innate. She writes from an inspirational perspective, something she has been doing since childhood. Ms. King is unique; there is usually a breath of fresh air whenever she belts-out her original sounds--with her strong, sure, powerful, textured vocal range. Her skill and dexterity cannot be denied. She is always accepted by an appreciative audience on all occasions and normally receives exceptional applause after each rendition. She was privileged to share stage with legendary stars such as Isaac Hayes, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Ray Goodman & Brown, The Manhattans, Grammy winner Michael Rose formerly of Black Uhuru, Gregory Isaac--the cool rulers of reggae, Sizzla, Cocoa Tea, Capleton, Beenie Man, Andrew Tosh and many others. In additions, she performed at venues all over the country including Downing Stadium, Roseland Ballroom, Aaron Davis Hall, Carbon nite Club, SOB's, Lion's Den and Tramps, in New York City. Maxine is an exciting, multi-talented artist who writes, composes, and arranges some of her songs. She grew up under the musical umbrella of the 809 band that includes reggae greats such as Dean 'Youth Sax' Fraser, a Saxophone master, and Desmond 'Roots' Young (president of the Federation of musicians, in Jamaica.) This group is well known in Jamaica for backing internationally famous artistes on the road.
