Welcome to the world of Instrumental Chaos! Created, mixed, and produced by Brian Patrick McCarver (working under the artist name 'Brian M.'), a one-man musical wrecking machine driven by his one true passion in life...music, of course. Like his grandfather before him, Brian has had a classically-trained background since childhood, beginning with piano and now using the mother of all instruments (according to him, anyway), a keyboard synthesizer and complete workstation that has enabled him to compose and record his own instrumental saga. The one instrument that is not present in Brian's music is the human voice, which he fully respects but has always believed not to be a necessity. In this case, the non-human instruments provide the voices that speak more clearly than any language known to man. Over the years, Brian has developed a vast and diverse taste for many styles of music, and although he takes influence from many of his favorite artists, he has a very unique identity that sets him apart from any other. Brian does not like to put one label on this sound, rather a mix of various styles he has taken a strong liking to and incorporates them into one big clusterbomb of cacophony. However, the often angry, maniacal and morbid vibes the music is known to generate are capitalized with a dazzling blend of flair, precision, finesse and a high enjoyability factor.
R.I.P. Instrumental Chaos (1998-2011)

13 years and 31 albums later, I have finally decided to retire the Instrumental Chaos saga. This music has been a huge part of my life, and although I am extremely pleased with how it has turned out, I have moved on to something that has been an even bigger part of my life. For nearly 2 and a half decades, my one true musical passion has been heavy metal, and now I am actually contributing to the scene by joining the northern California metal band Serpent & Seraph. After only a few weeks with the group, I feel more at home than ever before and to further elevate my anticipation, I'm going to be playing live with other bands I have personally been a fan since of childhood. Not to mention getting some experience with performing live and being able to travel places I wouldn't have the means to visit otherwise. I.C. was a fun project but it ultimately lead to nowhere other than a brief reception from personal friends and people on the internet. This SoundClick page, along with my other websites, will remain up and all available songs are still free to download. Thanks to all friends and supporters who helped make this experiment an enjoyable one....Brian M.

New update!: I've been planning to upload the entire catalog of Instrumental Chaos, only wanted to wait until the old stuff was remastered. Since that isn't going to happen for a while, I decided to post the originals so my listeners can hear the evolution of IC over the past 10 years. Over 200 songs have recently been added from album #1 to the present (making the current total 300+), and though most of these are old, and occasionally poor mix jobs, they're still listenable & will definitely be remixed sometime down the road. In the meantime, hope you'll enjoy some classic material as well as the new sounds of chaos :) Stay tuned for more music soon! B

"Weeping Willow". Made me think of a willow somewhere in outer space. The tree is all bent and disfigured. The bare patch of land is mostly brown dirt with little spots of grass as it floats through zero gravity. There is also a little stream of water that circulates through the willow in a circle (Much like Saturn's rings, but just one strip of water). Don't ask me how the lone tree in the willow survives; this is just the picture that got painted as I listened to it. Those cool noises at the beginning is what painted this picture!
Aside from my imagination, You've produced this track perfectly. I really liked that little beeping melody that started on 1:25. And I've also noticed you put a cowbell in the mix. You had it as a subtle element which was brilliant. You had cool noises play through out the whole track which fuled my imagination. Good Job.

Eyoooooo, IC, I don't know if you listened to "Planet Zipper", but I've done some playing around with the song's Sound Spectrum, and lowered the volume of the snare. It made a sigificant difference in the whole track. Before, the snare was so loud that it would get annoying. I think my hearing was shot like yours when I finished that song, HAHA!

I stumbled across "Jaguars of Jupiter" and I have to say that it was a masterpiece. You mixed it PERFECTLY. Your ears must have been working good in this one. LOL. I liked those 8-bit sounds you used at the beginning. My favorite part was when you mixed those two progressions together at 2:21. GENIUS! I also thought it was cool how you chose to kinda drag out the progressions near the end of each measure. It feels like some sort of crazy, mysterious type of theme. Nice Work bro!

Haha! "worst parts of the Matrix". Well, I really hope your hearing improves so you can make music more efficiently. Just avoid blasting the sound on your headphones for a while.

...... "Data Crypt"... I don't have a word to say how much i liked it... What can I say!? That underlying crazy bassline that would jump in was just AMAZING (I'm refering to the faster bassline that wrapped up every CRAZY measure). It supported the song's title: you know, all computer glitchy, spaz-like. The entire track supported the title actually. And you always use SICK a** snare rolls. None of those over used, ordinary snare roll patterns I hear all the time. Yo, just to let you know, I'm now officially a big fan... The only thing I'd do if I were you is lower the volume on that progression part at 3:49... But I really liked how you wrapped the progression up at the end of the track. Outstanding Work bro.

B-Infinite, I just want to say thank you for making your music available for free download. I truly appreciate it. Now I can put your tracks on my flash-drive and play some XBOX to it! I didn't realise that until today.

I was looking for a random song to listen to in your archive and I found "Dog". The main thing I liked about it was that "barking" sound I'm guessing it was. It kept playing on beats and off-beats. It didn't really sound like one noise but two noises in ONE: like "(offBeat)bah-gr(offBeat).. (onBeat)bah-gr bah-gr bah-(offbeat)bah-gr bah-gr bah-gr(offBeat)". I was jammin' to that the whole track.
