Self taught since about 11 years old, these days I only occasionally play guitar. Early influences were 60's Chicago AM radio, which mixed everything (rock, folk, soul etc.) together. As the 70's started, I was drawn more to songwriters - Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Elton John, Bob Dylan and others who, like these, were more intent on storytelling and imagery. Later in the 70's, Country-Rock became my big love - Poco, Flying Burrito Bros., Byrds and such. That being said, it seems that when I wrote (and I haven't done more in the last 20 years), my songs tended to be more Pop-ish. I love strong melodies, good harmonies and clever hooks, and I guess it shows. It's kind of silly, but one of my favorite self-penned songs is 'Three Weeks', and then only for the fact that I was able to write a pop song that was under 2 minutes! Go figure. If you come across this page, I sincerely thank you for stopping by and hope you find something worth listening to. These are all just basic demos, but I write the songs and play all the instruments. It was great fun, and I hope you have fun, too. don
