Vilikia Dyer (Va-le-ka) was born Vitinia Vilikia Forbes on September 11, 1984 in Nassau,
Bahamas. The oldest of three children, she grew up in a single parent home raised by her
mother Patricia Roberson.
Vilikia began her singing ministry at the age of 8. At the age of 14, Vilikia began to write her
own lyrics. At 16, Vilikia took on the challenge of singing in a gospel talent show for the first
time. The experience was exhilarating, to use her own words, "it was an exciting experience for
me because I've never participated in a talent show before; I had fun and I thank God for the
experience.”
Vilikia has been preparing and traveling down this inspirational music road ever since her
grandmother Mary Toote heard and recognized her vocal gift. CeCe Winans influenced her
singing style along with her own unique style. "My music is a style of music that ministers to the
heart of listeners, and allows a one on one connection with God. It's a connection that only
comes through worship, not just the singing of songs and the lifting of hands, but it's a
lifestyle. Worship is what I do it is who I am. That is where my heart is. Worship allows me to
express who God is to me, and I would like people to experience this as well". The influence
that her mother Patricia had provided has enabled Vilikia to pursue a Christian music career. "I
truly thank God for my mom, she's always been supportive and I love her dearly."
Vilikia has sung at conferences, outreach services, etc. Vilikia married her husband DeLando
in 2004. In 2005, Vilikia released her first album "Always There". She wrote and produced all of
the songs on that album. Vilikia just released her sophomore album "I Reverence You". She
wrote, played, and produced all of the songs on that album. Currently she is in the works of
releasing two CDs “Love is” and “Armor of God”.
Vilikia served as the Minister of Music/Worship Leader while under the leadership of Pastor
Charles Alexander at Intercessors House Ministries. Presently, Vilikia and her husband are
members at Family of God Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Kenric Conway in
Panama City, FL where she serves in the music ministry. Recently she has earned her A.S
Degree in Music Production Technology at Gulf Coast Community College.
Vilikia ministers, produce, publish, and manufacture her projects independently. "Singing is the
gift God gave me and my calling and my dream is to travel all around the world spreading the
gospel; spreading the goodness of God leading the people to worship God in spirit and in
truth. And I know that I can do all things through Christ which gives me strength". This is just
the beginning of what God wants to do in developing this young up coming Gospel
Artist.
