Samara (Sam-Ravelle)T’quilla Hall Samara Hall known to most as “T'quilla Hall “ and now Sam-Ravelle (a name given to her by birth) was born in the beautiful islands of the Bahamas in New Providence, which is the capital of the Bahamas to her mom a Bahamian native and her dad an illegal immigrant from Jamaica (now deceased). Most of her childhood days were spent at her grandparents since her mom had to work a shift job to keep food on the table. At an early age Sam Ravelle was exposed to music in church, her grandfather was a reverend while her grandmother was a sister in the church, where Sam Ravelle was also a member in the children’s choir. Sam Ravelle was always shy she used a pen and paper to express herself writing poems and songs reflecting her life stories. She was like any other teenager but just a little misunderstood. She was sassy and was always expressive; she never kept anything in, and was always vocal. At the age of 14 she finally broke out of her shell, blew many away at a school talent shows where she showed just how vocal she was. "A power house", they said. She sang like she knew everything about the world and had experienced it first hand. Throughout high school she continued to sing in local talent shows and when her moment had arrived she knew who she was and who she was destined to be. Her sound is soulful yet jazzy with a hint of blues, reggae and ofcourse gospel just the perfect combination that created "uniqueness". Her music influences range from Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston and our very own Bahamian singer “Sweet Emily”. Also most modern day singers like India Arie, Chrisette Michelle, Mary J Blige, Amy Whinehouse, and much more also encouraged this talented young lady to become the “Artist” that she is today. "Sam Ravelle" Destined for greatness!
