I downloaded the 10 day demo version of Auto-Tune for free when i was 16. I used some beats i made on "FL Studios" and created 2 songs called "Ringtone Dance" & "Peanut Butter Jelly Time". People new that i had been doing music before so they were already following what i was doing on the internet using @MySpace and @SoundClick.
Before i bought Auto-Tune i was inspired by a video i watched on YouTube that was about Jay-Z & Lil Wayne calling themselves "The Best Rappers Alive" and T.I. calling himself "The King Of The South". The video inspired me to dub myself, "The Prince Of Auto-Tune".
When i turned 17 i bought Auto-Tune and went back into my little home studio and created more beats for my first solo mixtape. Two of those beats were "Round N' Round" & "Body Move". I finished the songs and put them on @MySpace & @YouTube but I still didn't have any views so i e-mailed this guy who owned a radio station a few towns over from the house i was staying at. We exchanged a few e-mails and he put "Round N' Round" in rotation first, and eventually "Body Move" made the rotation as well. By that time my buzz had spread to different schools and not only students but teachers where dancing to my songs and singing my songs.
I finished my first mixtape and ended up calling it the "Prince Of Auto-Tune Mixtape". It was all my beats so i wasn't breaking copyright and so i didn't owe anybody money. It was also my own creative sound so i wasn't copying anybodies style. I uploaded the mixtape to @DatPiff and made copies to sell at my high-school my senior year. One of the schools faculty members came up to me one day and asked me how much money i had made so far kind of laughing a little bit, and i pulled a few hundred dollars out my pocket and he shook his head and walked away.
Between basketball and schoolwork i still found time to make beats, freestyle, and produce my second mixtape with features. The second mixtape was called "Unsigned Hype Mixtape".
