Born March 6, 1991 in Suffolk, VA., Lexus A. Lewis, a.k.a. Lex Luger is a 16 year old musical phenom. In the city of Suffolk where he resides he is called by many a young protégé and is fast becoming a legend in the city’s music community. When he was just 4 years of age Lex ‘s uncle Darren “Chum” Lewis, a music producer who had just recently relocated to New Jersey came to visit him for a week and brought with him his beat machine (MPC 2000). His uncle recalls Lex being totally taken with the sounds and rhythms that came out of the instrument. “I let him watch me make a couple of beats and I knew from the intense look on his little face he was destined to do this”, he details. At 9 years old Lex started playing the drums and by the time he was 11, he was asked to play drums for his church. This was when he began to seriously consider a life and career in music. By ages 13 and 14, Lex had begun to experiment with the new wave of beginner music software and by 15 he had moved on to and master industry level professional equipment and software. With the rise of urban music such as Hip Hop, Contemporary R&B and Southern Crunk producers over the past 25 years have total reshaped the music of the past through synthesized and sampled sounds, Lex Lugar wants to make his mark. To be this focused about something at such a young age is what makes Lex Lugar truly an eccentric young man.
