His musical odyssey began about the same time while playing in two different bands - one a Rock 'n Roll and the other n Ole' Time music band. Following his move to Arizona 44 years ago where he has worked as a warehouseman for Safeway Stores, his yearning for the music he loved propelled him into "jamming with the neighbors." The lead singer of a Hawaiian Band heard John's music and hired him as a bassist. The group progressed into a show group - complete with a hula dancer - and the lead singer ran away with her two years later. :) John then formed his own group knowing that a "girl front" was good business. His "Final Touch Band" played for the VFW, American Legions, Elk Clubs and private parties and weddings. Following the exodus of two female members, a very talented lady, Marcia, joined John's band. She could sing --- and play the keyboard! Some of their exciting venues included the Fourth of July event for the City of Glendale with 20,000 people in attendance! The group also performed at the Carefree Inn and, the popular Rawhide attraction in North Scottsdale hired John's group as the main party band for eight years!
