I'm obsessed with cultural meltdowns and the change of human consciousness through rebellious and often self-destructive acts. The Merry Pranksters, backwoods Kentucky moonshine bootleggin', East Tennessee (the whole damned thing), and musicians, for example. I'm working on my own musical expression, but so far I've only written sad sack songs about how unrequited lovers have screwed me over, and honestly I'm not sure anybody wants to hear that shit anymore. Anyone who's been in a bad place but knows me well can tell you I'll be first in line to hold your hair back, to slip a ten dollar bill into your coat pocket unannounced, or to give you a back-rub and put you to bed and make you breakfast when your soul is tired out. I'm coming to believe that my only purpose in life is to offer solace to others that can then speak out those creative ramblings that I can't seem to extract from my own worried mind. Someday I'll learn to be quiet and still, but not today I have work to do.
