Deadwords saw the day in early 2006. The band was formed by the bassist Frank (Gornegal) and the guitarist Alex (Mortuus), two good friends who wanted to accomplish a dream: Play metal.
In the early line-up, they had a friend who played drums, but he left the band for personal reasons. Gornegal became a guitarist, and started to play with Mortuus, without having an official lead guitarist.
While the band kept searching for the perfect line-up, Mortuus, sometimes helped by Gornegal, writed many songs that mixed melodic black metal with death metal influences and a lot of aggressivity. They finally recorded their first song called "Invoking The Dark Age", unleashing a powerful atmosphere and a dark melody.
In April 2007, a bassist named Richard Lapointe offered himself to become the band's bassist. He quickly became the official bass player of the band. The next summer, Nick and Slavaz offered themselves to be the band's drummer and signer. Unfortunatly, Rick and Nick were not able to follow the band's progression.
Now named Morteum, a cross between the latin words "morte" and "templum", the band seeks a bassist, a keyboardist and a drummer to complete the line-up. Thus, we will be able to play live, to see the birth of our fans.

Finally, some new stuff is available. The demo being nearly done, here's a sample of what awaits you. Here are the songs that will be on the next demo : I- Invoking The Dark Age (6:00) II- Cries Of Baal (4:48) III- Tortured Under A Mystical Procedure (5:11) IV- Nocturnal Whispers (5:43) The rest of the demo will be online within the next weeks, so will be the vocals of Tortured Under A Mystical Procedure.
