Blame It On Cain formed in the outskirts of Milwaukee in January 2007. The all-original quartet's straight-forward hard rock and pop songs have been compared to acts like Stone Temple Pilots and The Smithereens.
The band cut it's 'live' musical teeth playing opening slots for local favorites Fadeback, but really caught attention during an acoustic gig with Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe, during summer 2007. 'Cain' even sat in on a couple of songs with the multi-platinum selling artist.
BIOC released two singles on the Australian-based mp3.com.au in the fall of 2007. The song, "Yesterday's Happy", peaked at #16 on the Top 100 Pop & Rock Track charts. That same week, 'Cain' reached #12 on the Top 100 Pop & Rock Artist charts. Also, "Yesterday's Happy" was picked for inclusion on a CD sampler, that appeared with the debut issue of the nationally-circulated, "Sex, Drugs, and Rock And Roll" magazine.
Original members, Sam Boettcher (vocals) and Steve Draganchuk (guitar) recently recruited bass player Greg Gibbs and drummer Al Sumner to join 'Cain'. The foursome will wrap up 2007 playing local shows before a planned trip into the studio to record a full-length CD in early 2008.

Thursday, January 03, 2008 New Year, New Blog Current mood: excited Welcome to 2008. After taking the holidays off Cain is back at it. Lot's of things going on at the moment. Seems like it's going to be quite the busy Winter/Spring. We're in the midst of finalizing multiple gigs. We're also gearing up to record our 1st cd. Yeah I know we've been saying that since last June, but we've decided to take the bull by the horns. We're shopping the studios right now, trying to find the right fit. Eager doesn't even begin to describe the feelings bubbling up inside us to get into the studio. We plan on having it done by April, come hell or high water. Also, for the first time, we actually sat down as a band and started writing together. It really was a joy. Yeah I used the word "joy" in a sentence, so what? Anyway, in a span of 2 hours we were hammeing out some fantastic ideas that I really think are gonna make for some great tunes. The potential this little band has is just crazy. If you want to help the band out, go to our links page and visit us on other websites. Help us move up the charts on those site. On Soundclick, which updates its charts daily, Yesterday's Happy has cracked the top 100, and Close Our Eyes isn't far behind. Also, check out FatCat Radio, also on our links page. They really are the best source for independant rock music. They have added our songs to their Auto Play list, and hopefully we'll get on one of the live shows soon. Seriously though, it's a great independant rock community, I suggest you check them out. So that's it for now. Thanks for staying tuned.
