Born in Japan in the late 50's. Expressed an interest in music at the age of 10 after hearing swing tunes on WGN late night TV rebroadcasts of classic black and white movies. Finally got a used guitar a year or so later.
Learned a few chords, started listening to the rock/pop/gospel/blues being played in the late 60's in Chicago on the AM dial. Many things that moved me as a youth still inform my music to this day. Kept plugging and have been in a multitude of bands and ensembles for the last several decades.
Enjoy my current role as musician in the band at my local church. Currently play guitar, electric and acoustic, electric bass, both fretted and fretless, mandolin, octave mandolin and drums. A smattering of keyboards and other instruments just to stay well rounded.
