GS (formerly known as GS DA GETO$UPASTAR) has been freestyling in the hood since the mid 90's in his teens. Never really took a music career serious until 2007 when he dropped The Mixtape "Expensive Taste" with the single "Cornbread Fed" even though he recorded the song in 2005. The song got good reviews in the hood so he put it on myspace and created a myspace page. The myspace page was very successful. GS was 1# in his region for a long time.
He went from myspace to Soundclick where he has two Top 5 songs under his belt which are "Cornbread Fed" and the "Cornbread Fed Remix". 2008 He released on Youtube a song called "Blow Yo Back Out" off his M.M.S.P. mixtape the song took off instantly getting over 1200 plays
in it's first couple hours... the song now has over 200,00 plays with no video or featured artist just a song and a pic....2009 the country now in full recession GS was going thru hardtimes as well as most Americans He was incarcerated twice that year once for marijuanna possession and assault and placed on house arrest for six months...This is the main focus of his new mixtape "The Come Up."
The struggle he went thru during that period when he wasn't able to record he turned it all around and made a positive out of the situation. During the time GS couldn't record he never stopped making beats and learning about music production. He now has a catalouge of over 250 beats and patterns.
