History In the Making
On February 16, 1986 we welcomed a star into the world. Tobechi Jeffrey Anakwe also known as FAMIS was born. Twenty one years later a Hip Hop Mogul in the making has arrived to take over the Hip Hop game. With 20 plus songs contending for national and international radio play, Famis has innovated, re-mastered and remodeled the game with his unique style and “swagger” while raising the bar and paving the way for unsigned artists. Some of the industry’s elite (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and David Banner) are trying to anticipate Famis’s next move. Becoming the most anticipated unsigned hip hop artist of the decade was far from easy for Famis. Over the years, Famis went through 7 different schools in 7 years taking criticism from countless teachers and principals saying that he would never make it. Then Famis’s hoop dreams deflated ending his college basketball career after only 1 year.
Motivated by the negative environment around him and yearning to prove many doubters wrong Famis took his struggle to the recording studio spending countless hours and sleepless nights , recording hit songs such as, Ride With A Player, B-Day Party, Get it Poppin and Shoutout to the Ladies, just to name a few.
