It's 2001, in Selma, Oregon Skribbal (Real name Gabriel Eric Griffie) and his sisters were taken away by the state, to be placed in foster care, because of drug and child abuse. The situation would last for the next four years, with Skribbal's sisters all living far from eachother, in seperate foster homes. "Yeah it was difficult," began Skribbal, about his past foster care situation. "But, I believe that everything happens for a reason." In deed, it would be hard to cope with, being seperated from his family, living with people that he did not know. "The foster parents that took care of me were pentecostal's. Coming from a home where religion was talked down to, where you were only aloud to listen to Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica...where hatred was expressed very much, it was hard to understand why these people were speaking in tongues...and all this crazy stuff."
In 2003, Skribbal was relocated to Los Angeles, California, to live with his grandparents. "I was way excited...because I was getting out of the ghetto. Ya know, people think 'outback' they think of a bunch of hillbilly hicks. Oregon was the complete opposite. The hood i lived in was basically, all black. Ya know, it's the same old story. White boy in a black hood, get's into their culture and their music. So, moving to Cali, was awesome for me. California know's nothing about 'ghetto,'" laughed Skribbal.
