DJ Juggernaut Mace is a DJ/Producer from The Netherlands. He has been making beats, and has been cutting and mixing up records since the early 90-ties. In everything Mace does, influences of hiphop, jazz and funk will be heard: in his mixes as well as in his productions. Juggernaut Mace worked with acts like GrandMasterMind, DJ Vindictiv & Optimus (DigHeads), Solo Moderna, Skiggy Rapz, Erwin Vann, Line 104 and many other musicians, DJ’s and mc’s. Mace also initiated Fremdkunst.
PRODUCER
For many years now Mace wanders the earth, ‘doing something’ with beats and sounds. He cuts and pastes samples, scratches, plays synthesizers, unifies with other musicians. Sometimes Mace is trying to reconstruct the past by putting samples of his personal favourites together. Making his tracks sound as if the spirits of Art, Miles, Thelonious, Charles and John joined in some well organized jam session.
Sometimes the ‘Juggernaut’ finds inspiration in tracks of beatcreators like Premier, Dilla, Diamon D and Nicolay. The sound of Paul’s boutique, Fear of a black planet and Done by the forces of nature still inspires his work. So do the Nocturnes of Chopin, the pumping beats of J.U.S.T.I.C.E. and the raging guitars of The Ventures. Sometimes the books of Nietzsche and Chamfort light up his producing fire.
And usually? Usually Mace is making music, because…he’s making music. It’s something he did, does and will always do.
