Started playing drums in college a few years ago, picked up guitar and software sequencing later. I'm currently working on putting my old Squire Strat back together with a new paintjob that I've designed myself- racing stripes and all.
I record out of my house with my telecaster, 8 track portastudio, drum machine and Digitech effects pedal. I add in some other little bits later in the computer for final mixing etc.
Inspiration hits me here and there, in dreams, driving home from work, etc. I'm getting in the habit of keeping a little notepad around to put melodies and lyrics on paper.
