Spent Sprocket: a worn and used main drive gear. All the members of this group have been in a number of bands together and with many others throughout the years. All the songs were written by Wayne Beckner former lead singer and frontman for Michael and the Messengers who were signed with USA Records in Chicago and released Romeo and Juliet/LIFS[Wayne Beckner&Jack DeCarolis]; Run and Hide/She Was The Girl; Gotta Take It Easy/I Need Her Here[Paul Beckner]. The Spent Sprocket CD is an eclectic group of songs touching on various rock styles. All the songs are strong on vocals & harmonies, great guitar work with emotional leads, and very expressive organ/piano. Add bass, DRUMS, percussion, a splash of harmonica and sitar and there you have it. Lets not forget the Sprocket Singers directed by Michael Tye who lend their voices to track 12-When We All Get Home. On the ending of that song 3 of the Sprocket Singers add a solo line. Ritch Gagne is first, then second is eleven year old Lizzy Marquis, and last is Spud Kelly. We can only imagine how great Lizzy will be when she is 20. The CD has an eight page fold out with photos and A Band Of Brothers section that list the various bands the members of Spent Sprocket have been a part of. The Spent Sprocket logo has initials under all of the 24 teeth which can be used with the Band Of Brothers section to discover who these are. Not only does Spent Sprocket give you great music but you are provided with a little mental exercise.
