UK artist, Dixon J Scott, nicknamed "THE VOICE" by many of his fans, has appeared along side American artists Katy Moffit, Tompall Glazer, Rosie Flores and also supported Top American Artiste John Berry at "The Ropery" in the North East of England when he came over to test the ground.
Dixon's album "Forest Of Dreams" is a joint Anglo/American effort that includes some very good, original material, written and co-written by himself, and some of the finest British & American Country Music writers & musicians.
FOREST OF DREAMS.
The 12 track album kicks off with a song that saw top 10 actions earlier this year in the EMS European charts. "He'll Never Hurt That Way Again" is a very touching song that tells of the pain when someone dear passes away. Penned by Tom Botkin, Donnie Skaggs and Todd Collins, the song is perfect for Dixon's voice, which has a slight vibrato.
Dixon then goes into line dance mode for the very catchy, "Music to My Tears," a song that is sure to see the dance floors full. I also think this track could do well if released on one of the radio compilations. Other songs sure to be picked up by the line dancers include "Whiskey Blues Again" with its boom-chicka-boom rhythm.......... that reminds me in places of Johnny Cash's "Luther Played The Boogie"......... and the rocking,' "Stone The Crows," both Colin Ford composition's, plus the very catchy, "Where Did You Learn To Love Like That," and the foot tapping', "Long Gone."
Fans of the Mavericks will probably pick up on the mid paced "Photographs" with its Latin beat; this is one of two songs co-penned by Dixon with Mike Shepherd (Crazy River Band) with the other being the title track "Forest Of Dreams." A mid paced tune, played with a finger picking rhythm style that is very reminiscent of the Folk/Rock sound of the 60s.
All in all, this is a very good album from Dixon J Scott, an artist who, for the last two years has been very busy on the U.K. country music scene. For the future Dixon is looking to promote himself as Britain's leading country vocalist. He will find plenty of competition out there, as the U.K. scene can boast some very good singers, but one thing’s for sure,
This talented artist will certainly give the rest of the field a good run for their money.
