Rapper VI Champ (born Alonzo Bush) rose to fame in the streets of Mississippi’s well-known Golden Triangle Area (GTA). In 2001 after discovering each other’s many musical talents, VI Champ, his older brother, and best friend came together to form Blood Inc. Based in Starkville, VI and his partners began producing music and recording their own songs. VI Champ formed the side project called Gambino in 2003, but his main concern was still Blood Inc. VI began his solo career, making several appearances on other artists' tracks and then in 2009 releasing his own debut album, “The Champ”. Champ began other side projects (currently untitled) with ATL independent label Chosen Boy Entertainment in 2007 and is working on two executive produced albums that are set to release late 2010. While VI remains unsigned, it’s clear underground music set the tone for one of the GTA’s most talented artists.
