Why are you recording at home when a pro studio would do a better job

Here is one question that I found on the internet from musicians of today who now own a home studio like myself to rather having their works done at pro studio. For myself I been working on my home studio ever since Tascam came out with the Tascam Portastudio 424 back in 1992. Since then I have upgraded some hardware not to mention the software thru the years. Which can be very expensive. But compare to the prices of a pro studio still it's alot cheapier. Alot times I needed to invest how to run it have a system in place and about to try new things. My sound isn't perfect but I feel it's getting there slowly. So in many way have to put on different hats like playing the part of a musician/songwriter, producer and arranger and engineer. Lucky for me I use the Jammer 5 as well Band In The Box Pro Series. Both give me alot of great ideas. As well using tons of VST instruments to go along with my Cubase 4. The great thing is I don't have to fight against ego professional individuals which can slow down the process. Disadvantage is understanding what this jargon means in different softwares it really takes some time to understand specially if you come out so green in the beginning. Myself I only do it for about less than 10 hours a week. Still the cost comes out alot cheaper than to rely on a pro studio to do your works especially to record 14 songs. Please add your input to this. Tell me about your experiences to both having a home studio versus a pro studio. It's a learning experience to everyone I know. But whatever feedback you can give will be very rewarding to all.

Jan 11, 2008
The latest songs added to the list is 'Long Way'. Wrote that when I was 17 and just get a feel what it is like writing my own song. And 'Only For You' by Jack Rogers. Jack and myself are members from the same group 'The Airwaves'. Give it a good listen and let me know how you all like it. Peace !
Welcoming The New Year 2008
Jan 11, 2008
Well it's another new year. Like to first everyone a happy new year and thanks for visiting my blog. To start off on my solo project. I'm still working on my solo material hopefully to have it release by the end of this year. And also working on The Airwaves and hope to have this out by the end of the year as well. So many a person can do. I'm also working with a new group of writers to go along with the existing ones. I'll be working with people like Malika (FLA), Dean Keeling (UK) and Ralph Watley (Arizona), Laura Collins (Aust), Jim Radford (UK), Jack Rogers (MA), Simon Read (UK), Martin Petry (RI) and Carter Kuehn (Minn,). Alot of great ideas coming from these writers and myself. Using Cubase 4 with tons of VST instruments. But check out my site from time to time to hear them. Choose the name Jason Pacey Lennon due to finding a name that will bring people to my page. I'm still using my name notice the credit on the songs. Any way check my blog from time to time to hear the latest until then thanks.

Hi Mate,
I'm always open to write songs. I'm currently writing some new tunes. Always looking for something new with a good twist. Never know what I find. If your interested love to write some stuff. Looking to get an interview in Arizona as well in Liverpool. hey we could be the next Lennon and McCartney. Be fun. I'll give you my email address it's virtualguitarist@yahoo.com hook me up when we like to do somethings. Like I said I'm always eager to write. I usually look at lyrics and from there my music ability just kicks in high mode.
My best song that I have right now at soundclick is 'Rock and Roll Band' and listen to 'Waiting In The Midnight' let me know what you think of it.
