Everyday our lives are touched (sometimes unknowingly) by someone living with a disability. Many of my listeners are not aware that I suffer with SLE, aka Lupus.
In August (2002) the local WAGT-TV evening news revealed that I conducted my radio broadcast from my bedroom at that time because of the impact of the disease. These days, I broadcast live from the studio. But, the fact remains that when I'm in public or on television, people cannot look at me and tell that - much like Montel Williams - I suffer (and function) with a debilitating condition. Pain & suffering never looked so good!
It's not about the pain, People. It's all about the process
