My name is Prominant. 21 years old,originally from Virginia beach,VA. Born in Newport news,but bred on the southside of Virginia. Started music around the age of 16. Pretty much the same as everyone else,growing up with major influences. Seeing big artists on television,sheding light on a younger audience to inspire them to make music. I started making music off of internet mixing programs,wal-mart microphones,and a computer. Collaborating with local artists such as Blacko P,Eyerone,bishop,Imfammus,Orion,and other talented writers. Sooner or later though,you feel the need to step into a bigger realm,and put more professionalism into your work. I began saving up money,and going to recording studios. All while trying to carve my craft into a well described diverse style. My main influences were east coast hip hop. Mainly philly,and NY rappers. I feel there was a big influx of talented writers,and Mc's that came out of those areas. After a few years off an on of making music,and falling back,I am here in 2008 to break ground. Not make money,not out-do other artists,but to allow my music to be heard and respected. I think this year,amongst others,is important,seeing as music is taking a very large spot,in the minds of everyone worldwide. So here I am,Prominant.
