I am a hip-hop music artist born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. Although, I have been greatly influenced by west coast hip hop growing up most notably by Tupac Shakur, it was during my time in college that I discovered the conscious, political, and uplifting side of Hip Hop music rooted in the East Coast underground tradition. Being exposed to this motivated me to start writing his own verses, producing my own beats. I released my first album “Question Everything” released in 2006. My studies in philosophy and psychology had a big influence on the album and continue to influence my music to this day. After “Question Everything,“ I became deeply interested in politics due to the pro-longed Iraq war and the continuous deceptions of the Bush administration. This inspired me to record my 2nd album titled “Necessary Dissent” released in 2008. In addition to my music, I have worked in the social service and mental health fields for over 10 years. It was during my last year of graduate school while studying counseling psychology that I began recording his 3rd album “Free Associations”. Continuing in my passion for knowledge and desire to struggle with certain philosophical questions, I moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a 2nd master’s degree in philosophy at the University of Liverpool. I finished and released the album “Free Associations” on 1/6/11 while residing in England. I currently reside in the Los Angeles area and work in private practice as a psychotherapist and I also teach psychology at Long Beach City College. It's been about 7 years since I was writing and recording music seriously. In returning to writing and recording music now I want to take my music to a much higher qualitative level. In order to do so I had to acquire new mixing and mastering skills. Once I began to acquire some of these skills I realized the mixing and mastering of my first 3 albums was not up to par. As a result I have pulled them from all websites, iTunes, spotify, etc., so that they can be remixed and remastered. They will be back in due time! For now I plan to release some of the new music I have recorded and am back at work at putting together a new mixtape tentatively titled "Climbing Higher," that should be out this year.
