Getop (22) grew up on the island of Saint Martin. He became DJ at the age of 16. He later built his home studio and produced his first mixtapes with the help of artists such as Velly, Drunglis, SamX, Spinal and Lexxus. His influences are mostly Dancehall, Reggae and Dirty South. After being self-taught for 4 years he decided to attend the SAE School in Paris where he could follow his passion for mixing and synthesis.
Bala (23)was born and raised in Paris. He began playing piano at the age of 6 and studied classical and jazz in several conservatories. He released his first productions with voices from his cousin Sadik Asken and a panel of French rappers such as Grodash, Oxmo… Driven by his passion for analogue machines and his “old-school” mentality he also decided to attend the SAE School were he would be familiarised with the new technologies.
During their time at the school Getop and Bala sympathized and began making music together this finally leads them to graduating as a group.
They later decided to go on with their musical adventure and formed the “Sound Twins”, producers who make up a new musical era. A new musical era because contrarily to the current generation of Hip-Hop “super-producers” they weren’t brought up with the same idols.
Since their collaboration, they have worked with and produced for a very diverse panel of artists such as Shanice, Shadina, Velly, Lexxus Kid, Dizzel B, Sadik Asken, Grödash, Sky, ...) Their music is a very unique mix of
