The Story behind the music:
Back in 1969 when bigotry and prejudice were still deeply-rooted in Mississippi; history was being written. A family of 3, mother, daughter, and son had to abandon their southern lives in the wake of growing hatred and wickedness, in search of a habitable and friendly environment which turned out to be the historic Fillmore District of San Francisco.
Fast forward two decades. Betty, the daughter, who had left the awakening horrors of Mississippi with her mother and brother found herself in front of an abortion clinic, a heavy downpour of rain beating down on her. She decided not to go through with the surgery. In a few month's time, she gave birth to DeShawn Davis.
From a young age, DeShawn had been industrious. At the age of four, he started his own business making deals and trading toys. By age seven it was common knowledge that he would spend most of his time negotiating, gaming, daydreaming, and scribbling the word Dream in notebooks. At the age of thirteen, DeShawn had become infatuated with music; he had found something he loved as much as business. DeShawn went on to jerry-rigging an old Dell computer from the basement, a dusty Casio keyboard, and some home theater speakers into his first music studio. Dream Ear Productions had manifested from the wide imaginations of an ambitious young man, into a meritorious music studio.
