Drugs. Violence. Degradation. All of these are common themes of today's popular music, but are not highlighted in the music of aspiring rap artist, CHIEF HOLYFIRE. At a young 27 years of age, CHIEF HOLYFIRE has found his niche in the music world with his influential lyrics highlighting spiritual revolution, respectable relationships, and the falsehood of the common rapper. Aiming to present solutions to real-life situations, CHIEF HOLYFIRE gives inspirational credit to fellow artist and older brother, James E. Seay III, as well as his mentors, Paris of Guerilla Funk Recordings, entertainment lawyer Michael Aczon, and Anthony Marshall of "The Lyricist Lounge". In 2004 he was one of the few artist selected to be on BET & MTV2 in a commercial advertising a cash prize contest in the bay area. He uses personal experiences in his songwriting to reveal his strengths, weaknesses, and motivation. In 2004 CHIEF released the hit song, "D.I. Joes" featuring American Idol contestant, Jonathan Smothers. His hit single “WORLD DOMINATION” after only a week of release was ranked #3 of 1,260,000 hip hop songs on soundclick.com. Need I say more? Appeared on BET & MTV2 for a Music Cash Prize Contest commercial. Performed for world-renowned author Terry McMillan at her holiday party in Dec. 2004.
