Surrounded by the Arts, Matt Hamel grew up all
over Southern California. Raised in a single parent household up until the age of eight, he was exposed to the struggle’s of everyday life. Over the years, his mother had taught him to be greatfull for everything he had, and to be patient for what he didn’t. What she also passed down to him, was a sincere love for music. Following the lead of his mother, he slowly but surely picked up and developed a genuine interest in the art of singing.
From small time play’s to big budget productions, he captivated audience after audience with his ability to “Bless the Mic”. At the tender age of five, his journey began as a young, determined, new breed of artist. Starting with the gospel side of the music spectrum and leading up to stealing lead roles in musicals, he soon realized that his talent was more than just “Something To Do”.
Soon after becoming so used to the stage and well deserved attention, Matt began to venture off into his own creative territory. At age 16, he began to write, produce, record and engineer every feeling he’d ever felt, and opinion he’d ever held. Mainting the essence of Jazz and somewhat of a Hip-Hop edge has brought his sound to be categorized as “NeoSoul”.
