Concept was born and raised in New Rochelle. Through the years, his parents always stressed the importance of religion, culture, family and music. Music had always played a big role in his life, because everybody in his family was always involved in music at some facet, whether it was live performance, gospel or the sheer fact of progressing their taste in music, by expanding their horizons in what they listened to. He picked up on Hip Hop at the age of 12 merely as a hobby. He and some of his friends would gather around in a circle and freestyle every morning before school started. His love for music was obvious in the way he talked, walked and acted. Even though he listened to wide genres of music Hip Hop ultimately became the preferred choice in his lifestyle. Hard times fell upon him. He was first hit the tragic death of his grandfather, later he would be expelled from his middle school, soon after he and his family were evicted by his grandmother and were left homeless on the streets of New York. During this bleak period in his life, he somehow gained the inspiration to write lyrics again at the same ravenous pace he once would write with. Throughout all his adversities, his faith in God and his love for music kept him focused on fighting for a better purpose, which was to beat out all the odds and come out on top.
