My name is Jason Black. In my neighborhood I picked up the nickname J-Black amongst my friends who felt like I had a skill with music. I guess J-Black would sound more defining in such a hardcore music industry. I grew up in Rockland County in a small hood known as Spring Valley, I also spent half of my childhood in a town close by known as Haverstraw. These areas are full of many talented artist that may never get there due because of where they live. I seen some crazy things on these streets and I feel like I display it through my music. When I ryme I want people to feel how I do. I want them to be able to laugh and cry with me.
I feel like I can to it all on that stage, and I have the world in my hands when I can make people dance. I always hear about record deals and contracts and that’s cool, but even without one I still feel like I am a great artist. When I see people rocking with me in the crowd or cracking up when they see me battle somebody, I know I made it, and no one can put a price tag on that.
