I am a musician as well as an enthusiastic recording engineer. The main instruments in which I am studying are; Theatre organ, piano, guitar and saxophone, (in order of ability). I have played a concert with a Cuban band in The Forum, Bath, to an audience of 1200, in which I also performed a solo. Over the past few years I have been developing my compositional skills by composing music in a wide range of genres.
It has become obvious to me that I do not wish to become part of a band or perform live in any musical arena, and would prefer to work behinds the scenes dealing with technical issues.
Therefore I decided two years ago to undertake a BTEC ND in music technology, and in september I will be starting University at Cardiff to study for a Bsc (Hons) in music technology and in three years time I intend to study for a masters degree and then a PhD or equivalent as my ambition is to become a mastering engineer and possibly dealing with cinema sound, (production of speakers or development of cinema acoustics) and hope to take up an apprenticeship with the BBC in London.
