After the recovery from a head injury Oct 2006, Derek discovered the immediate abilities to play the piano. Derek is listed on the Wisconsin Medical Society's prestigious list of Savant's. Derek has also been diagnosed with "Synesthesia", and is currently the only medically documented case of this nature in the world.
