With music influences like Patsy Cline and Elvis, it's obvious why Rustie Blue crosses so many barriers. No matter what Rustie sings, her true blue country vocals are very much apparent! Her energetic stage performance and charismatic personality makes Blue a refreshing experience and somebody you won't forget!
Singer/songwriter Rustie Blue began her love affair with country music at the age of eight, singing in county fairs around her native southeastern Ohio. Genetically predestined to the genre -- she's related to Merle Travis through her grandmother Lila Jane Travis -- Blue released her debut record (That Oughta Do It) in 2001. The album won her a small but devoted following and opened her up to the mainstream, specifically Europe, as her second release, the bluesy Enter at Your Own Risk, charted overseas. Blue spent 2002 and 2003 a long way from her rural upbringing, touring Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Holland, and Australia. Her latest, Chip Chip, featuring a duet with legendary singer Whisperin' Bill Anderson, was released in 2005. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
Just days before traveling to Australia, Rustie was in Sony Studio's, Nashville with Bill Anderson; Rustie and Bill teamed up to record the International smash hit, "Chip Chip.". This was a year in the making! The single, "Chip Chip" was released worldwide in August and won the "Vocal Collaboration Of The Year" in the E.C.M.A. Music Choice Awards 2005! Rustie also had the opportunity, las

Rustie Blue Stronger Than Steel CSP Center Stage Productions CSP0826 4 Stars**** www.maverick-country.com Destined for placement on people's Top 10 albums due to the feisty yet tender vocals and simply played but infectiously catchy instrumentals. Having been recognised across Europe by one of her songs, a duet with "Whispering" Bill Anderson called Chip, Chip, standing at the top of the European Country Music Association for a mere seven weeks, this third release by this feisty and talented artist is brimming to the top with promise. An artist who won?t let Nashville shoot her down and instead is pursuing the dream of being a country music star by not restricting herself to the USA audience and instead travelling around the world in search of fame and recognition. Based on this album, that mentioned success is a guarantee. With a powerful voice to test even the likes of Linda Ronstadt, her booming spirit of never giving up and just going for it is certainly evident on Cowgirls Do It Better. Similar to Kendal Carson?s I Like Trucks, I guess we all owe Bob Harris a huge thanks for her being introduced to the UK, in terms of its spirit and damn right outrageous lyrics, the vocals of Rustie certainly do not let up and never give an inch. Just listening to Rustie in full swing leaves me exhilarated. Goodness knows what it must be like for the one singing this! With its frequent key changes handled handsomely well, the radio-friendly It Feels Good certainly has not just a country sound to it but a high-quality pop aspect to it. These tracks are ones, which not only radio bosses pee in their pants over, but those who appreciate a top-notch tune. The opening and one of the best of the thirteen on the album, Fall In The First Place, has the advantage of including some old timey sounds with a modern twist. When Rustie sings her heart out you really can believe it, no matter what the lyrics are. If she sung My Old Man?s a Dustman I?m sure I would believe that to be the case. Although it was released on her second album the duet with Bill Anderson on Chip, Chip is one which is certainly amusing. Showing that there is still potential appeal for Bill by recording with promising artists, their voices counteract so well that it actually won the "Vocal Collaboration of the Year" award at the 2005 European CMA Awards; a triumph certainly worth a nod or two of the Stetson. After listening to this album, you do begin to wonder why the heck this has not been played by Bob Harris? With Nick Barraclough?s show sadly no more, it is down to people like Bob to do something about this total lack of knowledge. A peach of an album it has to be said. RH

Nashville, TN (July 7th 2009) It has just been announced that Rustie Blue has been NOMINATED in the prestigious 2008/2009 ECMA (European Country Music)Annual Awards, for the category of "Female Artist Of The Year." ECMA members and reporters can vote for 2008/2009 ECMA Annual Awards starting this week. Blue previously won an ECMA Award for "Vocal Collaboration Of The Year" with Bill Anderson in 2005 for their smash European hit "Chip Chip." ECMA Chairman Rafel Corbi had this to say about "One Hot Summer Ago," the lead single from Blue's new album, "Stronger Than Steel", and #1 European hit in February 09. "One Hot Summer Ago" is one of the most beautiful ballads of the last years. A song to love and cry that works deep inside your heart, thanks to the wonderful and technically perfect voice of Rustie Blue. She is one of the most exciting female vocalists in today's country music scene." The whole album has to be one of the best Indie productions of the year — Stuart Cameron Radio Borders, Up Country magazine, Rush Released (formerly HotDisc) "I'm so honored and Thankful," says Blue, to be nominated alongside of such great artist as Taylor Swift, Pam Tillis and Danni Leigh, how cool is that? My new album has been very well received-and I would like to thank the DJ's for playing my music, and to my fans for all of their support as well! I'm really looking forward to my next tour overseas." Look for Rustie in the NEW issue, August 2009, of "Maverick Country Magazine," www.maverick-country.com. August issue on sale starting July 16th.
