V’Zion’s Bio Since the days of the booty bass pioneered by Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell and the 2 Live Crew, Miami, Fl. has been home to some of the most successful rappers in the rap/hip-hop industry. With triumphant talents such as Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled, Trina, Flo Rida, Slip-N-Slide, and Pitbull, the rap/hip-hop industry and its loyal fan base across the country are anxious for another great rap sensation to come blaring out the speakers of their cars and trucks. It is clear that they are waiting for another talent to come from the city known for its pretty beaches, nightlife, and beautiful people. Coming forth to erase the erroneous belief that Miami is solely about the glitz and the glam is V’Zion. Unlike some of the commercialized and record company manipulated rappers out today, V’Zion is predestined to be Global. “I’m born into war, crime, and poverty and have seen it on a global scale due to military experience”, says V’Zion. From the poetic bars and insightful puns that define his stage name, the calm demeanor, and the hard driven discipline instilled from his parents and the service, the 28-year-old rapper born Alphaeus Orjuna hails from one of the toughest neighborhoods in Miami known as Overtown. Growing up in an area where drugs, gambling, and crime are no stranger to street corners, Miami Jackson Senior High School alumni V’Zion is determined to depict through his lyrics, the error in falling for the aspects of ignorance and self arrogance for foolish gain. “I will always bring versatility to the table,” V’Zion begins to explain, “I have music for the mind and soul, those of faith and believers of the one true God, for without him none that we do is possible, the Brothers whom I share that pain and street bond of war as well as strife with, and the Women in which whom I deem as our Queens.” “Destiny” is one of the many songs recorded on V’Zion’s current label, GRUV City Entertainment. “He’s displaying a smoother side and more humbled approach than your average rapper nowadays” says Brianeisha Bazemore, one of the managing partners of GRUV City Entertainment. With its melodic melodies resembling the LL track, smooth like hustler chorus, and straight forward rhyme flow, “Destiny” is sure to gain airplay in both the nightclubs and the radio. He began rapping in 1990 and since then he grew more with each flow. He started engineering in 1998 when he graduated from Jackson with his high school friends Delvin J. Cox, James Spencer, Kevin Wiggins. After High school he joined the Army and went over to Germany where he met Ill Dunn aka Rich Griff and formed VA Reps. They did countless shows all over Germany and were known for their grimy feel producing beats off the Roland DR-5. They then merged onto creating a grimy grunge sound with Alternative bands like Shagalag and A.O.R. based out of Germany. The song “Need 4 Doe” featured Chuck of A.O.R. on the electric guitar in V’Zion’s first debut album Silent Stress. After learning the ropes he was honorably discharged from the service after dealing with the Iraq crisis and began building his production with his brothers in 2003. Now in 2009 the CEO/ President V’Zion also known as Politix and LyriQ, now runs GRUV City Entertainment, with artist under him and collaborating with him on projects such as “Amongst Thieves” and “Quite Frankly”. The GRUV City family has increased in size with talented prospects such as; Phenom(MD/Producer), DJ Slicebit(Cali/Producer), Eazy(BKNY/Producer/Artist), Diz Money(Philly/Rapper), Qwest(Miami/Emcee), T. Mill(BKNY/Rapper and Singer), Lady O(VA/Singer/Wife), Neisha B(VA/Singer), Neisha(MD/Singer), Kay(MD/Emcee), Rezz(NO/Rapper), Kempess(Jamaica/BKNY/Singer/Artist), Sincere(Miami/Brother/Rapper), and C4 Da Madman(Miami/Brother/Rapper). With artist like this under his production the game is in for a serious makeover. “We bring so much versatility to the table there is no reason no one shouldn’t be able to relate to us”, says V’Zio
