I wanted to talk about my take on the music scene and all that I've seen or giving an overview on the subject. Wally and I where on holiday with the rest of the EP's at Anglesea . We got so bored we both decided to go back to Melbourne for one night just to record the song !!! After the holidays I got Vicky to sing on the track..............I love her drumming on the song......GO VICKY !!! "MY KIND OF GIRL" .......TRACK 2.............Love the ep's country / rock sound .......THAT'S A SONG I'M REALLY PROUD OF !!! Wally and I sing great on it. (If you go to youtube and type in the word plastep you can see 2 film clips of the song. One is the first ep's filmclip made we are just having a run through that's why my shirt's hanging out !! we never were going to release it but it's so natural, it's really us in our element. I love the part where Vas puts on his sunglasses just before the guitar lead break !!! The no.2 film clip of the song is very polished. "BOOM GELATI GIRL".......TRACK 3.............It's about a girl buying a gelati ice cream in Lygon street , Carlton !!!......All fans of the EP's coming to Melbourne, Australia should buy an ice cream too !..!..!.....................tell them about the song !!!. I remember I woke up one Sunday morning and the song just came to me, this song is loved by alot of EP fans, they love singing along to the "BOOM,BOOM " part of the song !!! "YOU WON'T DO BETTER THAN THAT" ...TRACK 4....This is a great ep's sounding song........it would be great if it was used for a tv commercial for aust football or soccer !! A GEM OF A SONG. ( Any clubs out there interested ? or advertising agencies interested). "ONLY THIS LOVE"........TRACK 5.............love the song, love the back up vocals because we put them down first before I did the lead vocals.This is a real in your face sounding band song !! "THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW" ....TRACK 6......Great opening guitar sounds right through the song. That's what it is a guitar 60's type of song !! The song asks questions like "Hope our love will always be strong ?" I remember I had another verse to sing in the song but I didn't sing it for some reason during the recording, maybe that's why it sounds so good because the words are straight to the point. "DIRECT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF LOVE"...........TRACK 7.............The song wrote itself..............that's me doing all the high backup vocals because I'm the only one who knows how the song sounds in my head. I like the way I slow down the end of the song on purpose. This is a very popular ep's song, The song is about someone being lost and asking for someone to give directions when comes to finding someone to love !! Like a tourist being lost while reading his road map and asking directions from strangers where to go. "IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOU"........TRACK 8.......I like the way the words continuously run............the drumming makes the song speed along. Really good descriptive song, it's all about the person that you love and you give them credit for it. "ONLY YOUR LOVE MAKES ME HAPPY"........TRACK 9...........Great title and great sounding song, I love the high harmonies, I'm doing the high "Yeah" part , Wally's doing the low part. "POP GROUPS".........TRACK 10........one of the most unique sounding songs we have released.The song actually is structured to go in reverse because the drum beat stops and then starts up again and the song seems to go backwards in structure. Wally and I collect 60's music collectables and that's in the song "Wer'e part of your collection" it's as if the pop group your collecting, cd's , pictures etc is talking to the collector. "MAKE A RECORD" ..........TRACK 1 This is the first song Wally and I wrote together !!!........wrote out all the lyrics on a sheet of paper........l sang it to him and told him to fix it and l'd be back in a week !! The song's original title was "Well you want to make a record" and we called it that for many years until a producer / engineer friend told us to shorten it and we did. The songs all about going into a studio and actually singing about the process of making a record .......you know a vinyl record how they used to record it the old way in the studio !!!!...........Listen to this song and turn it up......your neighbours will love it.............or maybe your pets............cats and dogs will ! "SOMETHING TO ME",,,,,,,,,,TRACK 2 .....yeah, this a perfect pop song,love the vocals Vas singing with me and playing acoustic guitar.........l love Vicky singing in the middle of the song..............this is our EP's sound......l say "lets go" for the intro of the lead part of the song. 10/10 for this track !!! "WHEN IT COMES TO YOU"....TRACK 3........this song goes straight to the heart, an ep's sounding love ballad pop song........I do most of the backup vocals, the high parts........Wally's singing too !............I always love listening to it.........I wrote it as a dedication to Vicky. "ONE DAY SHE'LL BE MINE".....TRACK 4........Wally's fav track.........love the acoustic guitar and the bass, it's got a spanish love song feel to it. I remember singing all the words making them up as I recorded the song !!! "DO LOVE - DO LOVE" .....TRACK 5.............wrote this song about love just to sing it as a duet with Vicky..............the songs giving the message if you love me then do love do love...........do you love me?............I love you too ! "AT HOME".............. TRACK 6...my signature song.........1st song I wrote..........first song the ep's recorded.............came out as a 45rpm single in 1981, 500 copies made.........virtually impossible to find !!!!............it came out under the name PLASTIC EP AND THE RECORDS !!!..........this is before we became the ep's in 1982. I get requested from people wanting to buy the original single.....they say name your price !!!...........I really can't help them...........the original !/4 tape master has disolved into itself, lucky for me l transfered it to digital !!....the sound is punk / rock..............it's us..........it's unique.....it's raw and it's me !! "THAT GIRL JUST DRIVES ME WILD"....TRACK 7......Wally and l do a great job.........the shortest song with the wildest sound !!! "THAT'S YOU" ....TRACK 8..............dedicated to Vicky...........I say it in the first line of the verse............she does great backup vocals with her cousin Kerry ( I know her as KOULA }...........and there's a mystery singer singing lead vocals with me ? "IT"S GOT TO BE LOVE"....TRACK 9............I Love this song..........it's circus pop organ sound.........I wish I could have released it in 1967 when I was 9 years old !!! ...........Where were you then Wally ?.............Wally's bass and guitar playing is great and Michael's organ playing is ace !!! I recorded the vocals again over the original master and asked Wally to add bass because we forgot to do it !!! "DOES THIS GIRL REALLY LOVE ME" ...TRACK 10...........this is a true ep's song.........it asks questions about a boy / girl love relationship. It's just Wally and I writing a song in a pure simplistic form. "LOVE IS WAITING TO FIND YOU"......TRACK 11..........Wally's playing great on the track.........Vicky and I sing a duet........the song is about how love will eventually find you...........and you will find love..........a true love..............even though it hasn't happened............just hang in there and wait. "DON'T GET UPSET"........TRACK 12............I've got friends that just love this song and

"There's better ways baby"........the song came to Plastic EP while he was taking a shower !! but what's more amazing is the song "Hey bananas, we think you're groovy".....came to him while he was having a bath !!!!!!......... this proves 2 things, not only can you write songs anywhere, but you stay clean in the meantime as well !!! On the song "Remember the sound (Part 1)" original EP member Greg played lead guitair.......that part was so complcated that Wally deleted the guitair solo !!! When the session ended Greg said I can't hear the guitair part in the playback? Wally replied "don't worry about it you'll hear it in the final mix" !!!! ?? "At Home" is not only the first song the ep's recorded but it's also Plastic EP's signature song !!!.........he'll definately be remembered for that one !!! "THE EP'S WORLDWIDE FANCLUB" DIGITAL ALBUM HAS 16 SONGS BASED AROUND THE THEME OF THE EP'S REACHING OUT TO FANS WORLDWIDE THROUGH THEIR MUSIC. THE LAST SONG ON THE ALBUM IS "THE EP'S THEME SONG" WALLY AND PLASTIC WROTE THE SONG IN TEN MINUTES. WALLY PLAYED ACOUSTIC GUITAR WHILE VICKY JOINED IN TO SING WITH THE GUYS. "WHEN IT COMES TO YOU" IS ONE OF PLASTIC EP'S FAV TRACKS BECAUSE HE DOES MOST OF THE BACK UP VOCALS ON THE TRACK.......IN OTHER WORDS WHAT COMES INTO HIS HEAD TRANSLATES INTO THE SONGS. " SO MANY EP'S FANS LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH THEY DON'T PLAY ANY OTHER EP'S SONGS. THAT'S NOT BAD CONSIDERING IT'S THE EP'S 1ST DIGITAL ALBUM..........AND THEY HAVE RECORDED ANOTHER 65 ALBUMS !! PLASTIC EP HAS TOLD WALLY THE EP'S ARE GOOD FOR REACHING A 100 ALBUMS MILESTONE !! "WELL YOU WANT TO MAKE A RECORD" WAS THE ORIGINAL TITLE OF THE SONG.... "MAKE A RECORD". A RECORD PRODUCER AND ENGINEER SUGGESTED THEY SHORTEN THE TITLE, SO THEY DID. THIS IS THE 1ST SONG PLASTIC EP AND WALLY WROTE TOGETHER. ONE DAY PLASTIC EP VISITED WALLY AT HIS FLAT WITH THE FULL LYRICS ON A SHEET OF PAPER AND SAID " I'LL BE BACK IN A WEEK, CAN YOU FIX IT" AFTER THE EP'S RECORDED "REMEMBER THE SOUND (PART 1)"........SOMEONE AT THE RECORDING SESSION SAID TO PLASTIC EP "THAT'S A GREAT SONG, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT?". PLASTIC EP REPLIED " I'LL PUT IT AWAY IN A CUPBOARD FOR 20 YEARS AND THEN RELEASE IT ". THE SONG " POP STAR MANIA"....CAME TO PLASTIC EP AS ONE SENTENCE.... "IT'S POP STAR MANIA, DO YOU LIVE IN TASMANIA?" PLASTIC EP LIKES THE EP SONGS WHERE VICKY SINGS HARMONIES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK EG......"SOMETHING TO ME". ONCE PLASTIC EP ASKED VICKY TO SING ALONG TO A SONG AS BACKUP VOCALS, WHEN HE KNEW SHE WOULD SING LEAD, BY LATER REMOVING HIS VOCALS FROM THE TRACK, SHE DID SING LEAD WITHOUT KNOWING IT !! ONE OF PLASTIC EP'S FAV VICKY SONGS IS "WHEN IT'S TIME TO ROCK !". PLASTIC EP TOLD WALLY THAT HE WANTED TO DO AN ALBUM OF SONGS BY JUST MAKING THEM UP TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE A DUD ALBUM, SO HE COULD JUDGE HIS LOWEST SONGWRITING ABILITY.AS IT TURNED OUT THE SONGS WERE VERY GOOD...........THAT ALBUM IS CALLED RUBBER FOCCACIO. CHERRY MUSTARD IS A DIGITAL ALBUM WHERE CERTAIN EP'S SONGS WERE PLAYED IN REVERSE SO PLASTIC EP COULD SEE WHAT LYRICS HE COULD MAKE UP OVER THE MUSIC ! TWO EP'S FANS TOLD WALLY THEY MISTOOK THE WORDS "COME ON OUT BABY JULIE" AS "COME ON OUT BABY CHEW ME !"??
