Daphne Wong, originally from Singapore, is a singer specializing in musical theatre. At 17, she has had many opportunities to perform. From talent shows to concerts and private performances, she has obtained many valuable experiences. The highlight of her musical career so far was being asked to sing the Canadian National Anthem for multiple award ceremonies held by the Canadian Government in 2007. Recently, her recording of A Change In Me from Disney's Beauty and the Beast was used as example for a Disney Musical Revue in Chicago, Illinois. With over 6 years of training under her belt, she continues to keep growing as a performer.
Influenced by countless musicals as well as the powerful songstresses Lea Salonga, Stephanie J. Block, Ruthie Henshall, Heather Headley and Sherie Rene Scott, she has begun exploring different styles of singing, including pop, acoustic, classical, choral, soundtrack, a cappella, jazz, contemporary, and of course, theatre. She is also experimenting with songwriting and at this time has completed a project, and is in the middle of another.
In addition to her vocal background, Daphne has also had 7 years of piano training as well as 3 years of violin lessons. She is presently focusing on vocal performance and musical theatre training.
Presently, she is working on 4 projects:
- a Best of Broadway album
- a Debut self-titled album
- a Gospel album
- a 5-8 song EP with M. Palcong
