In 1999 Vince formed the Avant Garden band. Their music was made up of influences from various styles: jazz, hip hop, funk, R&B and gospel.
Vince's first project, "inVINCEble", available on Bugle Boy Music Productions, shows his versatility and range with the funky blues track of the album's title song, the poem set to music, "Sexy Silhouette", and the beautiful ballad entitled, "Barbara".
In 2002, Vince met bass player and singer Calvin Whittaker and formed the "Jazz Matrix". The duo put their heads and talents together to complete their first project, "Enter the Jazz Matrix" recorded on Bugle Boy Music Productions.
In 2004 "The Jazz Matrix" opened in Chicago for Sting and Annie Lennox and in South Carolina for Brian McKnight, Angie Stone, and Anthony Hamilton. Vince has also been featured with such groups as "Say Yes" and "Nikl Slik".
In 2012, Vince and “The Jazz Matrix” appeared at Harry O’s in Calumet City, IL and Seasons Restaurant in Merrillville, IN.
In 2013 he’s been featured with “Randy J. and The Expressions Band” at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, and The Linger Martini Bar in Oak Forest, IL.
Currently Vince is being featured at Close Up 2 Contemporary Jazz Club downtown Chicago and working on his latest CD project entitled “My Weapon” due to be released soon.

Attack of the Funky Trumpeter

The name, "The Funky Trumpeter" was originally an idea I had for an imaginary character similar to the Pied Piper who was able to play his pipe and hypnotize both animals and people. Somehow, I ended up with the name instead. The song was written by Zachary Prince and myself and feaures Mr. Prince on lead guitar.
