It is the face of God, which we seek, and by which we are changed, from glory to glory. It is the hand of God, which holds us; it is his palm in which we are held and strengthened, and his fist by which we are judged and chastised. It is the body of God, through which we are fed, our Bread, our manna. It is the eyes of God through which we can see truth and His glory. It is the sword of God, with which we can divide light from darkness, and discern what is godly from what is not. It is an impartation of the Almighty to us, a sharing, a communion, a baptism. The Word is of Christ, and is a gift! Open it expectantly, give praise and thanks, and use it with reverence, even awe! Keep it a close companion, take it into your heart and be healed!
