Strangleweed is a refined American, mainstream rock & roll band. Since their inception in 2001 they have performed their music with a hard edge and unmistakable intent that exudes charisma and spiritual dedication to their craft. Kenn, Starr, Slam, Jerry and Josh are living this dream.
This band from Dallas, Texas is reminiscent of early 70’s grooves with the conviction of the mid 90’s alternative power pop/rock movement. Candle Box, Train, Blind Melon and the like were all influences as well as the mainstay qualities of Matchbox 20, Pearl Jam and The Cult.
Strangleweed brings to mind an organic, yet defined sound. Big City Grit & Southern Attraction, yet they still retain their modern charm and defend it to no end with great songwriting.
With the release of their debut album “Present 2 Pastime”, these boys have braved the Southern Rock label and established a declaration that “Rock is Not Dead”
“P2P” is a landmark statement not only to rock fans, but to music lovers everywhere.
This “Greatest Hits Debut” of rock and roll sweat was cast into its distinctive 2” analog sound at the legendary Palmyra Studios in Palmer, Texas.
Engineer and producer Paul “Pappy” Middleton (Erika Badu, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Isaac) supplied his own lick of elegance while letting these boys engrave their steadfast desire into 15 predatory tracks guaranteed to leave you yearning for more. Mastering by George Geurin (Drowning Pool, Blue October, Burden Brothers, Bush) was the icing on the cake.
