Graphic Designer and Web Developer by Trade, I've been creating tunes (either solo or with a few friends) in my spare time since Junior High. I got involved with a four track and keyboard at first, moving on up later to a computer (Amiga 2000) and sequencer to record my tracks and vocals, then learned the guitar because after college it was increasingly hard to keep in touch and "Jam" with friends. We all had moved away and Real Life had begun. Careers, jobs, marriage, each went our separate ways.
I am not a musician. I try to create music to the best of my ability and patience at any given time. I like to write lyrics and sing (not as much time and the right equipment at the moment for singing).
But neither am I a programmer and yet here I sit at my job writing Javascript and PHP applications.
I'm not an artist or designer either and yet here I also sit creating marketing and advertising designs, logos, and web site front ends.
The Vice President of Design, and yet I don't consider myself an "Artist".
In all depends on your point of view. I am who I want to be at any given point.
To say I like a certain style or band would be inaccurate. I like a particular song if it appeals to me on a certain level. If I get goosebumps while I listen to it, that's a dead give away. I have my favorites, the bands that to me produced consistently sensory absorbing songs and I know my gut feelings were right when I hear these tunes in movies or TV shows year after year. Classics.
