Hip-hop has a new voice and powerful leader who will not hide in the shadows. Osiris is here to speak for the people and teach them about self-truth. “People want to be leaders but don’t know how to go about it,” says Osiris. “I feel like I can make the kind of music that can make people leaders.” Having lived a turbulent life, Osiris has found that being happy with yourself and living true to yourself are the most important lessons a person can learn. “For me, music is the expression of my Truth. It’s how I translate myself to the world and I want to inspire others to live out loud.”
The second oldest of seven kids Osiris learned how to cope with hardships, set examples for others, and earn his keep. Growing up in the streets of Lenox and Flatbush, New York he was enchanted with the hustlers, basketball players and rappers. He would sneak out of the one bedroom apartment that his family shared just to associate himself with them.
At ten years old he was slammed into a completely different environment when he moved to Colorado to live with his father. For the first time he was the only black kid in school and experienced the racism that goes along with that. Around the age of 13 he began to find poetry and rap as an outlet for his feelings.
