In 2003 Paul Speir and Tristan Shane founded a heavy metal band called Wicked System and quickly became good friends. The band didn't last long but the friendship continued and in the beginning of 2005 they both turned back to their Christian roots, rededicating their lives to Christ and putting their substance abuse and secular ways behind them. One day Paul was house-sitting for his ex-drug dealer and while sitting in the living room he began to pray. Lyrics and music filled his heart and the first Christian song Paul had written in over 10 years was born. A few days later he showed it to Tristan, who immediately took it and turned it into something quite beautiful. They immediately began collaborating, finding that they worked together very well, and so Sanctified, the songwriting team, was born.
Through the last six years both Paul and Tristan have taken time off to build families and explore other options in their lives, but in the back of their minds Sanctified has always been a priority, something they knew would come to fruition once again. And so in the fall of 2010 Paul and Tristan reunited their songwriting team and found a couple of awesome musicians to unite Sanctified as a complete Band.
