Many would have never imagined the success of someone born and raised in the gritty streets of Detroit Michigan, being teamed with "Super Artists" such as: Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, artist/producers on Grand Hustle-Inc. (TI's label), Pras, Young Jeezy (his introduction to Hip Hop), Lil Wayne, Slick Pulla, and Proof to name a few. Fortunately Brandon (Dirty Bird) Parrott a "Multi Platinum Selling Record Producer and Writer" did not have to "Imagine." He lived this destiny of greatness from birth. Obviously life was no "Fairytale" for Parrott growing up, he still was able to endure and internalize the many hardships and adversities of "Inner City life" and transpose the pain and negativity into methodic melody's and bumping 808's, using music as his outlet. Raised by a single mother (like many African American children in major inner cities), Parrott often found himself seeking refuge in the loving care of his maternal grandmother affectionately known as "Nanny." Nanny headed the household while his mother pursued her own music career as a VJ and concert promoter for music legends such as "Prince" and "UTFO". As you can see the apple did not fall far from the tree, therefore it should not be a surprise Parrott spent most of his time during adolescence playing multiple instruments. He played in various marching bands and unpredictably the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. As you can imagine, the temptations of the "Streets" and the lure of "Street life" (fast money, women, jewelry, clothes, cars and the like) increasingly became harder to resist. Nevertheless, sheer "Will Power" consistently prevailed, and he created time to nurture his craft. "Putting pen to paper, turning my life's experiences into 16 bars and a hook became therapeutic, even intoxicating" says Parrott. As his passion for his craft depend, he found ways to secure funds specifically used to purchase more advanced recording equipment. He knew to produce his music in a more professional quality was needed if he had any future in "The Music Business." Quickly Parrott realized, the easiest and most evident way to get the money would be the most risky. Parrott soon found himself at the crossroad of risking his freedom to bring his dream to fruition. Somehow the choice was made, he then was able to purchase new equipment immediately started teaching himself to use it and bang out hits. It was no time before he got the attention of highly recognizable "Platinum Selling/Grammy/American Music/Soul Train, B. E. T. Award Winning Producer/Artist" Dr. Dre. With "Star Power" like this, Parrott's tracks started selling like hot cakes. However, this new found "Fame and Glory" was short lived when he was indicted on federal charges. It appeared everything he had (and worked for) was at risk. Eventually everything he owned was seized and he was detained in a federal penitentiary. Using the time as a "Self Reflection" period Parrott was able to create some of his most compelling work. Using his creative mind, a pen and a blank piece of paper, he began again to write, but this time formally evaluating himself. "Incarceration truly allows one to appreciate 'Freedom . . . Life' and the great things God has in store for me, Parrott concedes. Being determined to leave with a renewed spirit and follow his dream fully, Parrott used the time to prepare himself not only for his freedom, but for "Life" after. Shortly after his 2003 release , came his first "Hit' single "Multiply" by rapper XZIBIT (a track he sold to Dr. Dre). XZIBIT's LP went Gold and the Single chart topper "Multiply" hit No. 1. Immediately following the success of "Multiply" "New Comer" 50 Cent had a record breaking successful initiation into "Elite Hip Hop " with his "Multi-Platinum Selling Award Winning Blockbuster" LP "Get Rich or Die Trying." The third single "P.I.M.P" was another previously sold to Dr. Dre. With this, Parrott had the most successful selling tracks across the globe. Get Rich or Die Trying sold over 20 million copy's
