YG, Was Born Joshua Galigher 6/5/1989 At A SomerVille, TN Hospital. As an infant His Father Was Abusive toward's his mother due to alcoholism which ultimately resulted in the divorce of his parent's just two year's after his Birth. Immediately Upon the divorce his mother moved he & his sister to there grandmother's in the small town of Bolivar, TN.
Joshua grew up in a mobile home just next door to his grandparent's in a community called "Vildo". The community was known as a lower classed poverty stricken neighborhood. His mother took on a job as a waitress & Joshua and his sister were mostly under the care of his grandparent's. Joshua Started school at Bolivar Elementary at the age of 5.
Throughout his school year's he was picked on, teased and bullied for being lower class and poor, ultimately resulting in bad behavior in school. Throughout his elementary year's he was suspended more than 100 time's. In Just the 5th Grade, the school decided he had to many issue's & removed him from the school. He started 6th Grade In A Hometown Christian Academy Week's Later.
After Only Two week's In that school, Again he was expelled. By the start of 7th grade year, he was back in public school in Bolivar, TN, This is where his love of music began. One evening after school while at Wal-Mart with his mother, she found a CD in the parking lot. She Handed him the CD which turned out to be Coolio "Gangster's Paradise". He Kep't the song on repeat for week's & fell in love with Hip-Hop music.
By his last year In middle school, He began freestyling at school with his friend's, on the bus, & actually recording song's on a cassette tape with his long time friend & neighbor Xavier Hill. Many started to pay attention to the skill's he possessed and by his first year in high school he became evermore popular amongst many.
His 9th grade year started good, however after several more discipline issue's he was again expelled from hardeman county school's. He was ultimately forced to attend another christian academy where his mother gave him the option, No more suspension's or be sent away. Again Joshua Was expelled for an altercation with a teacher and that resulted into being sent to Savannah, TN to live with his grandparent's.
While In Savannah, TN Joshua began to write more music. The town which he now lived in seem to not accept his different way's however. Many began to pick at him an make fun of him, ultimately leading to being thrown from the hardin county school system. He began homeschool in Febuary of 2004. After three year's of homeschool & maintaing the credit's to recieve his High school diploma when he turned 17, He relocated back to his hometown Of Bolivar, TN.
Upon returning Joshua started working with a local record label "3-way records" & was immidiately signed into a newly formed group "10akey Pimp Click". After two album's with the group, thing's went sour and the label shut down. The Label Rejoined again In early 2008 with "Stacked Up Records" Only lasting month's before again Failing to make lift.
In September 2009, His father & step mother were brutally murdered while sleeping. He questioned if he would ever do music again. In Late 2009, He started working on "Rehab Muzik", Which was finished by 2010 & Produced Over 5,000 Internet Downloads. He again fell off the music scene. In Mid 2011, He returned with "Hunt A Hata Season" & Again after countless downloads and sell's found success within his music.
Now, January 2013 He's released his 2nd solo album "Back To Business". The rest is in the making!!!
