jimi has a lifetime of musical knowledge and experience. It began with his first drum-set at age five. At eight he studied piano, but soon realized his true passion was drums and percussion. He was a member of the Coast Guard Band and studied under the late great drummer Tim Brown, as well as Don Hamerick, Chuck “Cheeko Costanero” Cook, and the master of ambidextrous drumming Scottie Thomas. jimi frequently participates in musical clinics and events and recently attended Master classes with Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Horacio (El Negro), Jason Bittner, and Jason Gianni. jimi's musical knowledge and experience go far beyond instrumentation. jimi has worked professionally providing technical support during live performances and events for renowned artists Michael McDonald, Eddie Money, Smash Mouth, Morris Day and The Time, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Israel, Gym Class Heroes, Cartel, and Plain White T’s.
