Artist Bio:Jim Engel Starting out at a very young age of 3. I was artistically inclined it began with music and led into other outlets most kids at that age. Drawing on the walls mostly. Not the best choice's of mediums. It was looked at as a rebellious streak likes or which my Great grandparents have never seen. All ways into trouble from banging on my uncles drum set in the middle of the night to crayons on the walls, All ways the constant. Next logical step some one would think would be grade school art class. Most of it ended up on desk's and walls all the way through High School and being in trouble for it as well.. Most had to do with the music I was listening to. Album covers Rock and Roll seemed to be the sound of choice as well as a strange affinity for Classical. Back in those days Michael Jackson was a thing even when I was very young when he was with the Jackson 5. I never really liked Jazz or Country or Pop. Middle School Art class's and High School art class's where interesting from pottery to drawing mostly Charcoal and Pencil. I think Pencil was my favorite. Some of it ended up in the show case in High School.. One piece in particular an Eagle. That I seen a picture of from a National Geographic magazine. I was rather supersized myself that it made it in the art case. Because I didn't get along with any teachers because of my artistic antics. Some at the time was well lets say very anatomically correct being on desk's. Well they got a audience.. I was a natural as well in something else. That never really thrilled me till later on in life. Was labeled a geek from middle school was caught numerous occasion on the only computer in the school allowed to be used by students in the library. Being bullied for it seemed to be the standard for geekdom. Out of High high school and into collage for a lot of my friends. I went there right into a machine shop. Made 50 Cal armor piercing bullets and grenade casings for launchers. Had a civilian security clearance because some projects had Top Secret classification. Numbers seemed to be a thing. Never really fast with them but had a thing for going over them over and over and over again making sure they where correct seemed to be something that was desired for quality control. By this time. Color monitors and color printers where coming out of the public computer markets at a good price. Well I had moral issue's with making ammo and weapons. So you guessed it. computers became the thing for me. I doubled my efforts with them.. I found out that I was enjoying them and had no moral issue's with building them. Got Married at a young age had a couple of kids. Computers still a passion. In early to mid 90's there was groups of people making these programs called graphics demo's where they would combine music and electronic art and in some instance's animation. Was cutting edge at this time,Before all of the CGI movie's came out. Basically I was in love. There is more to this story. That will have to be saved for another time. Live,Laugh,Love and make art.
