Wyclef Jean stated, "it's very rare you find an artist who writes, produces, and engineers their own music." D-FO's groundbreaking lyrics and outstanding productions is a sure sign that Hip-Hop isn't dead just yet. His unique style and delivery is sure to open up a new category in the genre of music. He proves that he's more so a musician than rapper, everytime he brings a new composition to the table. "D-FO is just a shorter version of my original name, believe it or not, D4L. It basically meant, I can't be anybody but Dionte 4 Life." He discovered his talent to recite rhymes at the tender age of 11. Though his rhyming capability proved to be nothing but a leisure to D-FO, as the listeners grew, he began to realize what he was put here to do. D-FO brings somewhat of a tall tale to the music world. The conflict of his three alter egos, (D-FO, DJ D-FO, and Fizzle Baby) provides the drama. DJ D-FO's mixtape circuit "Eastside Maintenance" is on the rise as we speak. "I wanted to do a Gangsta Grillz type thing for us Chicago artists. I admire how the south sticks together for those type of projects, so I wanted to bring something like that to the table for the Midwest."
